The Boats Example

This application is the one shown on our InfoInOut pages to illustrate the way that the screens work.
It allows information to be put in and returned out about different boats.

Points to Note

The Equipment option allows maintenance of pieces of equipment that may be part of the inventory of items associated with a boat.
The More Advanced Boat Maintenance is a list of boats in the same way that the simple one was. However there are extra options.

These options include the ability to subset the list and the ability to go down a level to see the crew, destination or equipment of a particular boat.
The crew option permits any name to be typed in. You should notice the boat name you selected is displayed.
The destination option permits you to select from a pre-specified list of 7 possible destinations. The arrival date is in a calendar select format. The departure date needs to be entered in the format dd/mm/yyyy. The Bay Pilot Required can be selected or not as required.
The equipment option requires selecting an item of equipment that exists in the equipment file that you maintain by taking the equipment option from the menu.
The Allowed locations option goes down a further level. You should notice the boat name and piece of equipment from it that you selected are displayed.
Across the options you will notice that some options have to be entered and some do not.

The Boat Destinations is another way of looking at the same information. You select a boat and it will show the destinations it has visited.
The Marina Log is another way of looking at the same information. The boat destinations can be ordered or subset.
